This collaborative storytelling project changes the narrative around homelessness through ethnographic cartooning focused on the experiences of Portland State University students. 

 

In this collaborative project I worked with a research team, which included the primary investigator, (Kacy McKinney) two undergraduate research assistants, a Comics Studies intern, and a Community Partner Liaison, as well as a PSU student who told their story for me to illustrate in these very comic. Through constant revisions, edits and video calls, this comic centers the story of one international student's journey to get housing while being isolated from her family back at home.
